PiEED operates an online directory and communication platform that helps people discover independent contractors. This policy explains how PiEED handles information submitted through the public website, contractor accounts, reviews, direct inquiries and the Customer Request Marketplace.
Information we collect
Information you provide
- Names, email addresses, phone numbers and account credentials.
- Contractor business profiles, service categories, service areas, websites, licensing claims, insurance claims, logos and project photos.
- Customer inquiries, project descriptions, locations, requested timing and optional budget information.
- Reviews, ratings, contractor responses, reports, support messages and private contractor notes.
- Account preferences, privacy requests and verification materials.
Information collected during use
PiEED may record IP-derived security hashes, browser and device information, timestamps, page activity, listing views and clicks, email-transport results, session activity and other technical records needed to operate and protect the platform. PiEED analytics are designed to use aggregated daily activity where practical.
How information is used
- Create, verify, moderate and operate contractor accounts and listings.
- Publish approved business profiles, project photos, reviews and contractor responses.
- Deliver direct inquiries and match customer requests with relevant approved contractors.
- Provide password recovery, email confirmation, notifications and service messages.
- Detect spam, fraud, abuse, security incidents and violations of PiEED policies.
- Provide analytics, support, data exports and account-request workflows.
- Comply with applicable legal obligations and protect users, contractors and PiEED.
When information is shared
Direct-inquiry information is shared with the contractor whose profile the customer contacts. Customer Request Marketplace information may be shared with approved contractors that match the requested category and service area. Customer contact details become available to a matching contractor after the contractor expresses interest, as described on the request form.
PiEED may use hosting, email, security, storage and technical service providers that process information to support platform operations. Information may also be disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with law, enforce policies, investigate abuse, protect rights or respond to a valid legal process.
Public information
Approved contractor profiles, business contact details, service areas, photos, verification indicators, reviews and moderated contractor responses may be publicly accessible and indexed by search engines. Reviewer email addresses and private contractor notes are not intended for public display.
Independent contractors
Contractors are independent businesses and may have their own privacy practices. Once information is properly shared with a contractor, that contractor is responsible for its separate collection, use, storage and communications.
Cookies and sessions
PiEED uses essential session cookies for login, security, form protection and account features. Hosting and security infrastructure may also use technical cookies or logs necessary to deliver and protect the website.
Retention and security
PiEED retains information for as long as reasonably needed to operate the directory, provide requested services, maintain accurate records, prevent fraud, resolve disputes and meet legal or security obligations. Retention periods vary by record type. Account closure does not necessarily require immediate deletion of reviews, customer communications, audit records, fraud-prevention records or information PiEED must retain.
PiEED uses administrative and technical safeguards intended to protect information, but no internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Users should use unique passwords and protect access to their email accounts.
Your choices and requests
Contractors can update profile information, manage optional email preferences, download a self-service data export and submit an account-closure request from their private dashboard. Customers and other users may request access, correction or deletion of eligible information by contacting PiEED. PiEED may need to verify identity before fulfilling a request and may retain information when permitted or required.
Optional contractor emails can be disabled in Email Preferences. Security, verification and listing-decision messages may remain enabled because they are necessary to operate the account.
Children
PiEED is intended for adults seeking or providing contractor services and is not directed to children under 13. Do not submit information about a child unless it is reasonably necessary and lawful for the requested service.
Policy changes
PiEED may update this policy as the platform changes. The updated date above identifies the current version. Material changes may also be communicated through the website or account tools.
